Projector Problem?

We have an Infocus X1A which we use pretty frequently. However, last night we turned it on and the projected image was split into three layers of brightness. The left side was the darkest, the middle was a little brighter but still too dark, and the right side was normal in brightness. Does anyone know what’s wrong?? The lamp is at 900 hours (to be replaced at 2000 hours).

If the three layers of brightness appear on a black/white gray image, then your color wheels have burned out and need to be replaced. The main cause of color wheel failure is improperly shut down of the actual lamp. Here’s the correct shut down procedure: using the remote, shut down the lamp, while leaving ON the main fan for at least 20 minutes. Then shut off the whole projector using the main power switch. Using this procedure will not only allow cooling down of the color wheels but also extend the life of the lamp itself.
Good luck!
