Hey
I’m thinking of whether I should buy:
HD projector (optoma Hd65) with surround sound and a 92″ screen.
Or
LCD tv with surround sound
Main uses for either is watching tv (rarely as this is the 2nd tv/projector) ; gaming on hd 360 ; watching movies.
Which do you think would be better and also what components will I need? (surround sound 5:1 with AV receiver, projector & screen/ Lcd tv - is that all I will need?)
Thanks ![]()
Ps. Lighting for the projector should be ok as I plan to have it in the basement where it is always pretty dark!

The right projector (assuming you have a good place to put it) can be really great for watching movies, but it’s definitely not something you want for gaming. Go with the LCD TV if you plan on gaming with it.
i would suggest to you buying a ps3 if your looking for optimal graphics. i have both. I enjoy ps3 more because i play call of duty world at war. I am using a sony bravia 32 inch 1080p Tv with a boss 3-2-1 7.1 surround sound system. I am a gamer and that is my job. But if you have a 360, its graphics are good as well… Honestly, go for the Projector. Be different! that s**t would look Bad@$$ on a 92 inch screen. hope this helped =). ps3 + tv = great n 360 + projector= sexy
I’d go for the projector, because of the ultra portability, plus with a projector, you get way bigger screen size. Cheaper too I think. Or at least worth it.
LCD TV is bulkier and unportable (almost).
Given the choice, I would have gone and bought a projector right now, but budget is a strong rival.
I would definitely recommend the LCD because the image will be sharper and clearer for fast motion and details in the game.
Plus, the glossy look of the LCD’s make for nice gaming in a dark room, not so much to see at once.
For what ur using it for, get the projector. just keep in mind that every now and then you’ll have to switch out the bulb inside, which can get pretty expensive….
HD is the way to go
They Last longer and are alot cheaper- Plus for gaming the HD can handle many many more hours of Gaming!
Simple: the most expensive the better. The biggest, the brightest, the slimmest, and get one from SONY…
HDTV definitely.
HD Projector. Ive heard that was pretty good to use
